Team Earth was started by three childhood friends that agreed they were fed up with their own ignorance and apathy toward global warming, as well as their ability to do something about it.

Refusing to hand over a destroyed planet to their children, nieces and nephews (and scared they will burden and imperil their grandchildren), they decided they would do their best to take action and to incite others to do the same through humorous, satiric and ironic taglines/graphics on T-shirts and other related apparel.

Our personal and company goal is use our merchandise to spread the word to the best of our ability: Global Warming is here.  We encourage others to spread the word by playing a game of “tag” by tagging others with specialized Team Earth tags that come with our shirts.

We understand that apathy will result in some “tags” coming to a virtual “dead end.”  We also understand that people’s fear, aloing with the flood of “disinformation” will lead many of us to believe that global warming is for “Chicken Littles,” environmental profiteers, and at worst a “conspiracy.”

To the naysayers, we contend that a greener planet is a healthier planet, and tackling global warming will help alleviate a host of environmental ills that are deeply affecting humankind and the delicate balance of life that sustains us.  They are not mutually exclusive.

Our second goal is to drive the most fuel-efficient vehicles on the market, to use petroleum-free products, to sell the most natural products available, and eventually, to use alternative fuel and/or to get off the grid.  Until we do so, we consider ourselves to be hypocrites. 

To date, Team Earth is a small company and cannot afford to offer the products we wish to offer, but we’re working on it.  Because of this, all profits from the sale of our shirt, “Hello, my name is…Hypocrite,” will be given to global warming research and/or to sustainable energy projects. 

At the end of the current and subsequent fiscal year(s), we will announce which organization and/or company has received our assistance.  In the future, we intend to let our customers, general consumers, and the curious, to place a vote to help us decide where are donations will be most effective.  We are, after all, a team.

We realize than many of us cannot afford to be as green as we wish.  That’s why we have listed the three easy steps you can take to help reduce global warming.  These are steps almost anyone can take to help reduce global warming.  We realize that for many of you, this is not enough.   We therefore encourage you to take further steps.  Please visit our site often in the coming year, as we will be developing a strong educational presence on our site while continuing to offer more merchandise that can spread the word.

In the meantime, if anyone asks you what we stand for, you can tell them we are dedicated to…

1. Being creative and informing an apathetic public about global warming and alternative energy solutions.
2. Helping ourselves and others to avoid and overcome hypocrisy regarding global warming as well as our energy use.
3. Showing that both companies (especially the largest ones) and individuals can profit from alternative/sustainable energies.
4. Using a percentage of our profits to offset global warming research and sustainable energy costs.

 

Mahatma Gandhi said, “You must be the change you want to see in the world.”  We agree.  To help us stay focused, we created the Team Earth Mantra listed below.  Use it as needed, and remember: stay focused.  The game has just begun!
